Prima Mixed Media Journal Album with Sherry Mendoza

Do you want to learn to take your paper crafting to the next level?
Sherry is coming all the way from the land downunder to teach this stunning technique based Prima Mixed Media Journal Album

You will play with gorgeous Prima products and gain some expert insight and instruction for a brand new paint product, PanPastels which are the crafters latest "must-have” item! You will get messy with Ranger sprays, Faber Castell pens. The kit also contains a chipboard sheet by Words or Whatever  designed especially for this class.

Sherry will teach you blending techniques with different mediums such as texture paste, gel medium, gesso and acrylic paints, creating some beautiful backgrounds for your Mixed Media Journal.
During this workshop Sherry is also is going to teach you a very cool photo transfer technique that can be used in most areas of your crafting portfolios.

Scrap It Tv & 2Crafty

Recently I filmed another episode for the next series of Scrap it Tv here in Australia using products from the chipboard Company 2Crafty! As usual it was an absolute blast and I thought I would share my projects with you. I have done 2 versions of three projects - one to have on display throughout the show and the one I actually create on the show so I am going to share them all. I would like to say a huge thank you to some friends who let me use their photos on these projects - Ebony van der Starre, Tricia Barrett and Melissa Millar! I believe the three projects are going to be on three different episodes which will be airing in July!

Dylusions and PanPastels = fun demo day!

Friday I was off to Fantasia Store in Bella Vista to do some demonstrating, just playing with Art Jouranling and lots of paints, mediums, stamps etc...of course I had my Dylusion stencils, stamps and PanPastels at hand! The ladies love the new products and booked  into my Art Journal background workshop in April. 

Yesterday I hosted a demo day at home, so that people could come along to learn about Dylusions and PanPastel products, then we hung out and did some creating together (and eating some yummy goodies!) ... It was a nice relaxing day. A huge thank you to the ladies who came along :)

Playing with Dylusions

I have been busy getting ready for my workshops in South Africa in a few weeks, creating 6 samples, plus instructions and a power point presentation has been keeping me out of trouble :) I am so excited to be going for Prima along side my gorgeous friends from Graphic 45, we are going to have a blast!

This weekend I am hosting a demo/crop day on using both Ranger Dylusions products and PanPastels which should be a lot fun! I have 3 workshops in April at Fantasia and another day demo-ing Dylusions and PanPastels at Page2Scrap in Tuggerah on Saturday May 26th.

In between all these class preparations etc, I managed to do some background pages using Dyan Reaveley's  Dylusion products including stencils, sprays and stamps from Ranger. I had so much fun doing these, exprimenting and getting my hands dirty! I am going to apply some of these techniques to some scrapbooking pages very soon! In the meantime I have been applying them to my art journals.

I have been keeping a secret...for MONTHS... but now I am REALLY EXCITED TO REVEAL my new job with Prima Marketing Inc, as Editor of their new Art-Zine 'MY PRIMA PLACE' 

 

We’re ready to excite, inspire, motivate,  and  share the wonderful world of  Prima! 

We are very pleased to announce the imminent arrival  of our premier issue of  

"My Prima Place” 

a complimentary PRINT publication dedicated to all things 'Prima'.

This 28 page bi-monthly Art-Zine created by our in-house Editor, Sherry Mendoza, which showcases a variety  of  styles and projects  including Scrapbooking, Card Making and Mixed Media.  

With beautiful photography and written tutorials prepared by  our talented  international design and education team, My Prima Place  will be a  great source of inspiration, information and influence.   We will also be adding projects and features from acclaimed guest-artists and designers from all over the world to keep every issue  fresh and informative.

27.2.2012 Post CHA - long post!

What can I say, CHA was awesome!!! a lot of HARD work but so much fun. We had the pre CHA (Crazy Hat Day) workshops at the Prima warehouse in Chino, a few of us taught workshops and I helped to run the make and takes on Day 1. Here are a few photos!

Next up was my class, it was so much fun and I think the ladies had a blast, a special thanks to all the ladies from Australia and NZ who came along to support me!

A special thank you to Rebecca for all your hard work, it was appreciated!

The next highlight for me was having to do a Press presentation for Prima Pre CHA on our Prima Press which made it into the top 20 Innovative Products!

Then it was CHA opening day!!! The new booth was truly amazing and the projects were simply stunning. I was running the make and take section and the girls had a lot of fun as did the customers!

I got to see my gorgeous friend Nat again!

I got to meet the lovely Anna from Poland!

After CHA I headed off to Baltimore to The Queen's Ink to do some workshops with Dyan Reaveley who is Ranger's newest Signature Designer with her product range 'Dylusions' and I am lucky enough to be on her design team!

First things first - a spot of shopping with Dyan and Patti (owner of The Queen's Ink)

then to onto the serious stuff of teaching!

A huge thank you to Dyan, the workshops were fantastic and I loved all your 'Dyisms'! Also, a huge thank you to Patti for your generous and amazing hospitality, you went above and beyond and I am very very grateful :)

After Baltimore I returned to LA to spend some time with one of my besties (Hola Elkie!) before heading home, arriving back in Sydney on Monday morning. Then on Thursday it was off to the Brisbane show with Jane Clark, Louise Nelson and Giovanna Scott who were all teaching amazing workshops!

The turnout for the workshops was great and we all had a wonderful weekend. While I was sitting at the front counter in between classes I couldn't help myself and had to do something creative.

I had some cute photos in my bag that I had taken with my new polaroid camera and came up with this layout! I got to play with some new products from the Kutalicious girls, the acrylic birds and word 'friends', very cute stuff, thank you! (they gave me some more stuff to play with so watch this space!)

On Saturday I taught a Prima workshop at Scrap Sanity, a store here in Sydney owned by the gorgeous Tiff Sawyer, it was a blast, thank to the ladies who came along! I also did a design team project for Tiff using MME Kraft papers! (yes something a little different for me!) and a Twiddleybitz shadow box!

I have also been playing with my Dylusions and Prima together!!!

This is a new Prima Journal :)

And here is another journal I am working on using Dylusions and other Ranger products, hugely inspired by the very talented Kate Crane (another Dylusions girl!)

I am also working hard on my project for my Prima workshops in South Africa in May, which I am very excited about!  Special Thanks to Ranger, Words or Whatever Chipboard and Faber Castell for also sponsoring these classes, I am truly grateful!

On March 17th I will be attending 'The Art of Life' mega crop day, which is being run by Giorgina Neilson at Davistown, NSW. I will be doing make and takes all day using PanPastels and Prima products. You can find the info HERE on facebook, I hope to see you there!

On March 22nd I will be filming Scrap-It-TV for 'All about Scrapbooks' here in Sydney, I am doing three projects and here is a sneak peek of one of them!

19.1.2011 CHA is getting closer!

and I have some exciting stuff in the works...more of that will be revealed very soon!

We have so much planned at Prima for this CHA!  First there are our awesome pre CHA workshops in our new classrooms at the Prima warehouse in Chino for retailers.

CLASS SEATS ARE LIMITED and are booked on a first come basis.  Reservations are strictly limited to 2 FREE class seats per retailer.  Additional guest reservations can be purchased at $50 per class. Class attendees must be registered to attend CHA and must bring a copy of their CHA registration with them for class admittance.  Contact Rebecca at Prima at rebecca@primamarketinginc.com to make your reservation now!

11.01.2012 - Dear Blog, I have neglected you...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Life has been CRAZY, I have neglected my blog for exactly 2 months!!! Since my last blog post so much has happened and I am so happy that 2012 is here...and what a great start to the year for me! Firstly, I am blessed and fortunate and super excited to be off to South Africa in May to teach at the South African Scrapbooking convention, you can find more information here! I am going on behalf of Prima Marketing Inc and will be teaching a mixed media workshop...more details as soon as it is all finalized! One of the best things about this opportunity is that my amazing friends from Graphic 45 will be right there with me to share in the fun!

Something else that I am really excited to share! The amazingly talented Dyan Reaveley who was recently announced as a Ranger Designer, has asked me to join her Dylusions Design Team, yes I believe I actually squealed down the phone...it was one of those converations when someone says something to you and you are not quite sure you heard them correctly, I didn't breath for about 10 seconds and then I squealed! I am gobsmacked to be working with Dina Wakely, Kaz Hall and Kate Crane, awesomely creative ladies! I cannot wait to see Dyan's debut range of products at CHA!

More exciting news!!! Next week I am off to Sunny California to attend the CHA tradeshow! I will be teaching at the Prima warehouse at our pre CHA workshops as well as looking after the make & take area in the Prima booth at CHA. 11.12.11 Christmas is coming!!!

and everyone is trying madly to get organized!!! My friend Joanne recently had a baby girl 'Lisa' and I have made a little keepsake album for her. I have used this gorgeous Basically Bare album with lots of Prima products (of course!)

this layout was done for the Scrapbook Adhesives blog last month.

and a Tattered Angels project for November. December will be my last month with Tattered Angels as I did not reapply for the team, the new team looks amazing and I wish them all the best, I had a fantastic year designing for them and am grateful for the opportunity.
